Kraft Fellows in Africa: Reflections on Culture and Complexities

As part of the Kraft Global Fellows Program, Columbia students travel to a Columbia Global Center as part of a project to study foreign religions, cultures and communities.

Two fellows who recently traveled to Nairobi, Kenya shared insightful personal reflections on what they saw on their trip and how it affected them.

• Jacinta Ndubuis-Obi, CC'27, shared a video about her time in Nairobi, which she described as "a place unlike any other."
• Jose Pablo Castelazo Polanco, CC'26, noted how singing Kiswahili songs helped him reconnect with his Catholic upbringing.
